Mounted XD 9 Customer Photos
This Springfield XD-9 with a three inch barrel is mounted in a 2009 Toyota Tacoma. This is very similar in position to even a mid 90's 4-Runner. We want to give a huge thank you for sharing this information, and allowing us to pass it on.
Here are some notes from our customer:
During installation, we noted two things.
- There is a metal support bar that runs near the top of the plastic side panel. That bar prevented us from mounting the back of the holster any higher. We also could not have mounted it much farther forward (towards the pedals).
- I mounted it as far back (towards the seat) as I could. I wanted to be able to reach the gun without having to lean forward in my seat. This however, allows some of the gun grip to be seen through the passenger window ... but ...
a) you need to be looking for a gun otherwise you won't recognize the grip, and
b) I usually wear dark or black pants so the grip blends in with my pants.

XD 40 Car Holster Revisited
We've had a several XD 40s / Compacts / Sub Compacts Holsters leave the shop and I just never really get pictures of them for some reason. So here you go! Black car holster for the XD!
Just like all our holsters, this holster is lock stitched, dip dyed top grain leather and machine pressed to fit the XD model. It is open ended and should generally fit all XD models.
Springfield XD40 Compact
This gun is touted as one of the best carry pistols around due to its size and weight. It also features two safeties. A grip safety and trigger safety.
A custom car mountable holster is now available for the Springfield XD40 Compact! We hand make this holster, pressed to fit your XD 40 like a glove. This natural leather holster will mount to any interior panel in your car or any flat surface! Including under your steering wheel, in your glove box, or center console, or in your door panel. It will mount under tables, to chairs and to the side of your bed as well. This holster will fit all XD40 models including Compact and sub compact.
