Spare magazine mount inside your Holster. You wanted to be able to carry more rounds that you could access quickly and now it is available for you. Never fear running out of ammo again, always keep your spare magazine with your holster tucked neatly behind your firearm.

Spare magazine holders on all holsters are rare, be them IWB, concealment holsters, mountable holsters, or otherwise. Mostly because magazines are kind of bulky, and where do you put it? Do you put it on top of the holster, behind, in front, under neath? No matter where you decide to put the magazine, it adds weight and bulk. Neither are very appealing to the end result.

We were hesitant to add a magazine holder for years because we were unwilling to compromise the product and experience that you get when you draw your firearm. We maintain that those two things are the most important features of this vehicle mount holster. You must be able to quickly and effortlessly draw your firearm, and you must have confidence in the holster to be mounted securely and hold your gun correctly.

You kept asking though, and so we kept looking for a solution. Well we finally found one! Our unique vehicle mounting system affords a solution that nobody else has, or can even do. We didn't even see this solution for the longest time! Our mount creates space behind the firearm for your hand to reach effortlessly around the grip and draw. After pouring over the mount, looking at it from every angle, and many, many trial runs, we found a location and angle in that space that holds the mag and doesn't detract from the room required for your hand to be able to draw. This creates a balance in the holster and without adding any additional bulk or requiring any additional room, you may now carry a second mag right there with your gun.

This is the perfect uncompromising addition to our holster design. It is the first major modification that we've made since finalizing the holster mount in 2008. It is also a modification driven by customer requests, by your requests. The quality of your product and fitment is absolutely TOP NOTCH! The leather...the stitching...WOW! I seriously cannot believe how well my XDm fits in the holster. Totally Awesome! Also, the customer service and support you have provided is right in line with your product as well. You made it a very easy transaction and we appreciate you contacting us to clarify the order. Other companies would have probably just processed as is without making sure that it is what the customer really wanted. But you went above and beyond.

Edit 4/15/2011 - We bring you good news, this holster is now mounted in a VW Passat. See these updated pictures below showing the center console open and closed, fully concealed.

Here are some notes from our customer:

During installation, we noted two things.

• There is a metal support bar that runs near the top of the plastic side panel. That bar prevented us from mounting the back of the holster any higher. We also could not have mounted it much farther forward (towards the pedals).
• I mounted it as far back (towards the seat) as I could. I wanted to be able to reach the gun without having to lean forward in my seat. This however, allows some of the gun grip to be seen through the passenger window ... but ...
  a) you need to be looking for a gun otherwise you won't recognize the grip, and
  b) I usually wear dark or black pants so the grip blends in with my pants.

And now for the pictures:

Solid as a rock definitely describes the mounting system, a rigid custom engineered wedge, coupled with a dampening pad, machine screws and lock nuts.  We don't stop there though, solid as a rock also describes the feeling you get when your gun locks into place in the holster with a perfect fit.  This perfect fit is only achieved by pressing each holster to the particular model gun it is meant to carry.  In this way friction, and the subtle contours of the gun hold it in place like a glove, no other retention devices to get in your way.

We don't just say this, we do it.  Most of our pictures on the site don't show the gun in the holster.  We want to show you how well each of our holsters are made and why when we say your holster is made to fit your particular hand gun that you can believe it’s true. We decided to go ahead and post a few pictures of holsters made to exact fit, and to ensure that you know they are, we put the gun in the holster for the picture.  We'll continue to post pictures including the handguns and work on showing the detail and the fit.

These pictures are of a Glock 19 and a Kimber 1911 and I’m sure you will agree that there is not another company making car holsters that can compare with the detail and fit of our products. The revolver pictured below is for a tiny revolver, you'll notice the press detail around the chamber. We test all holsters for draw capability, and this one both holds the gun nice and tight and allows for a nice draw.

Just like all our holsters, this holster is lock stitched, dip dyed top grain leather and machine pressed to fit the XD model. It is open ended and should generally fit all XD models.
